Raj Sesha

TOPICS: SINGLE TOUCH PAYROLL | NEW LABOUR HIRE COMPANY LICENSING LAWS

Raj is the Director of SDP Solutions and a member of the Australian Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) and has over 20 years’ experience of working in Banking, Strategy and HR areas.

SDP Solutions is a contingent workforce management business operating in Australia and New Zealand.  Providing tailored outsourced services and payroll solutions to manage the complete lifecycle for all your contingent workforce requirements.

Raj’s roundtable discussion will focus on ATO’s Single Touch Payroll, a reporting change for employers with 20 or more employees including contractors which will come in to affect from 1 July 2018.  Raj will explore what is involved, responsibility of businesses and what reporting needs to be provided to the ATO and mechanisms to be compliant with it.  The Government has also announced its intention to expand Single Touch Payroll to include employers with 19 or less employees from 1 July 2019.

Raj will also discuss the new Labour Hire Company Licencing Laws in QLD and SA.   With QLD introducing a mandatory labour hire licensing scheme and SA also calling for reform on Labour Hire Companies it is only a matter of time until other states follow suit.  The scheme will be backed by stiff penalties and some offenders will be liable for criminal prosecution, so compliance is paramount.  Raj will delve into what is required, the responsibilities for Labour Hire Companies including those who use outsourced payroll services and compliance to these legislations.
